DEBBIE ARMOUR (UK)

Let us gather in a circle of rosemary, where memories and traditions are weaved through song.

Hidden away amongst the trees at Lost Farm HQ the critically acclaimed Scottish singer and artist Debbie Armour will carry the impressions, moods, smells, and sounds with her to a unique and heartfelt performance.

Untitled is a durational performance piece, and an intimate exploration of how memories and traditions are preserved, transmitted, and transformed through song. This evocative work walks a line between performance and ritual, taking place inside a circle of rosemary where Debbie Armour will sing every traditional song she knows by heart, positioning the artist as conduit, archive, archivist, selector, transmitter, and conductor.

The Lostfarmers will be invited to document something they remember about the performance a lyric, a feeling, an image - as they leave the space. This will be the only documentation of the work.

Debbie Armour is a traditional singer and artist working with sound and performance, motivated by persistence, resonance, deep cultural roots, and celebrating traditional materials. Her primary recording project, Burd Ellen, has released three albums with the last two featuring in The Guardian's Top Ten of the Year for genre. The most recent album entered the UK charts at number 40.
