MATTHEW FRANCIS PARKER & SEAN ROY PARKER (UK)
Exploring regenerative food systems, land sovereignty, and cultural heritage.
Where the main road through Havnebyen and the sideroad to the old fishing harbour meet, you'll find Kiosken på Odden – the hyper-local-meets-global natural wine bar and specialty deli.
Here, the kiosk’s owner, chef, and preserver Matthew Francis Parker, and award-winning visual artist and writer Sean Roy Parker (brothers, indeed!) will illustrate how food is a necessary and historical tool for social change in late capitalism. Throughout the Lost Farm Festival, along with a small team of cooks, artists, cultural actors, and local food producers, they will expose the current state of our toxic food system and map out slow, seasonal methodologies that challenge our palates.
Through practical knowledge and interactive workshops, the pair (known under the names The Country Teaser and Fermental Health respectively) will teach attendees to responsibly collect and preserve local wild ingredients and surplus organic produce. They will incorporate an experimental arts-based approach to highlight food’s role in cultural heritage preservation and democratizing access to agroecological techniques.
Kiosken på Odden will be a hub of talks, workshops, and tastings throughout Lost Farm Festival, inspiring creativity and advocacy for healthier, more inclusive food systems. Roy will also read poetry from his debut collection stewarding, published by Monitor Books, London.
