SIKSA (PL)

Be prepared when the Polish creeps come to get your body to make weird squeaks.

Feel the absolute manipulating and persuading power when the Polish duo SIKSA throw on you their brand new live show Grande Donna Freiheit and Her Spiders From the Squat visiting Sjællands Odden for the very first time, yeahhhh!

Thanks to the intense and up-your-face interaction with the audience, every show acquires unique dramatic qualities. The duo's concerts blend punk energy, performative poetry, and contemporary dance. Within the limitations of their instruments and stage presence, they carve their own path. Sometimes inspired by childhood memories, other times by legends or reality reimagined through the uninhibited vision of SIKSA.

In their work, the personal meets the political, and the unspoken meets the deafening. Being at a SIKSA concert is not like being at any other concert, it’s a statement, a political act. They are here on a mission, telling us all a highly performative noise-punk fairy tale about freeeeeedom. So don’t fuck with SIKSA, or you’ll regret it!

SIKSA (Yiddish: שיקסע, romanized: shikse, disparaging word for a young woman perceived as vulgar, inexperienced, and immature) is a feminist duo arranged for voice, bass, lyrics, and bodies. They have played over 400 concerts around Europe, Turkey, and Caucasus from small clubs and squats, through contemporary art galleries to the largest European festivals.
